This might sound controversial, but here goes. If you can afford it, seriously consider taking a flight when your train journey originates from or terminates in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, or some other high-density northern route. It’s not about the people. It’s about the travel experience: overcrowding, long waiting times, poor cleanliness, ticketless passengers, unpredictable delays, and the sheer chaos that can sometimes make a long-distance train journey exhausting. If the extra cost of a flight is manageable for you, sometimes you’re not paying for luxury. You’re paying for time, comfort, predictability and peace of mind.

Recently I took a Second AC coach to travel to #Bhubaneswar. At different stations throughout the night, people moved around the compartment in search of vacant berths. The doors were not closed at any point. That is why thefts take place. @AshwiniVaishnaw @RailMadad

Bihar UP me kam se kam stoppage hone chahiye trains ka. Both states are just too populated and certain section of politicians actually encourages lawless behaviour by their supporters.

@AshwiniVaishnaw sir please understand... railway needs to be more strict, much more! Travelling in AC coaches feels more difficult and fearful than sleeper classes, cause people have trust in here and most of the times I have seen ac coaches being crowded by unauthorised entries

Misleading information. It happened all over India. If you get time then travel in AVADH ASSAM EXP from DLI to ROK and back. You will feel reality. Same in 12137/38 from Bhopal to Itarsi and back. I feel same in south bound train also from Delhi in Karnataka exp.

To The General Manager North Eastern Railway Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh **Subject: Urgent request for permanent solution to water logging at Chhapra Junction** Respected Sir/Madam, I would like to draw your kind attention towards the serious water logging problem at Chhapra Junction, especially during the monsoon season. Chhapra Junction is a very important railway station and a lifeline for thousands of passengers travelling between Bihar and several major metropolitan cities across the country. Every day, a large number of passengers depend on this railway junction for their journey to cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and other major destinations. The recurring water logging at the station and its surrounding areas causes significant inconvenience to passengers. It also creates difficulties for elderly people, women, children and passengers carrying luggage. Prolonged accumulation of water can further create sanitation and safety concerns. I therefore request the concerned railway authorities to kindly conduct an immediate inspection of the drainage and water disposal system at Chhapra Junction and take necessary corrective measures. A permanent solution should be developed so that the problem does not continue every monsoon. Chhapra Junction is an important connectivity point for the people of Bihar and deserves proper passenger infrastructure and effective monsoon management. I sincerely request the Indian Railways to take this matter on priority and ensure that passengers are provided with a safe, clean and accessible railway station throughout the monsoon season. Thank you for your attention and prompt action. **Yours faithfully** A concerned citizen . CC to Ministry of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw

From Delay to Crackdown: Lathi Charge and Phone Snatching Spark Outrage at bidadi railway station The Ashokapuram MEMU train was delayed for about an hour and a half, causing great inconvenience to passengers. The train was halted midway due to a technical glitch, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded and unable to reach their destinations on time. Frustrated by the delay, passengers staged a protest against the railway authorities at Bidadi Railway Station. Some protesters came down onto the tracks and shouted slogans, demanding an immediate alternative train. “It is unbearable that the train has not moved for one and a half hours. Students, employees, and women are in distress,” the passengers said. Railway officials stated that the train had been stopped due to a track issue and assured passengers that the problem would be resolved within half an hour, after which services would resume. During this time, a heated argument broke out between the passengers and the officials. As the situation escalated, a scuffle reportedly broke out between the police and the passengers. The Bidadi police arrived at the scene and carried out a mild lathi charge to disperse the protesters who had gathered on the tracks. In a video of the incident, police personnel were also seen allegedly trying to snatch a mobile phone from a passenger who was recording the events #bangalore #bengaluru #bidadi #railway RPF INDIA South Western Railway Karnataka State Police S. What was supposed to be a fun train journey turned into a stressful experience for a group of friends According to the person who shared the incident they had booked and paid for three seats in Train No 11109 Coach D1 During the journey, an elderly man reportedly approached them and insisted that one of them move aside so he could sit The group politely refused explaining that they had paid for the entire seating arrangement they were using However instead of accepting their response the man allegedly became aggressive The person claims he started pressuring them issued threats and even said Meet me at Lucknow station I'll show you then He also reportedly claimed to be a member of the railway staff The passengers said the confrontation left them shocked and upset, especially since they were simply traveling to enjoy their day. What should have been an exciting trip was overshadowed by an unpleasant argument If such situations occur during a train journey, passengers are generally advised to remain calm, avoid escalating the confrontation, verify the other person's identity if they claim to be railway staff, and immediately report the matter to the Train Ticket Examiner (TTE), coach attendant, or the Railway Protection Force (RPF). If anyone feels threatened, they can also use the Rail Madad platform or contact the Railway Security Helpline for assistance. The incident has sparked discussion online, with many people saying that disagreements over seats should be handled respectfully and that no passenger should be threatened during a journey.
