Toni Preckwinkle is keen to advertise how she has presented 15 balanced budgets and has not raised County property taxes. Preckwinkle is lying. Here is what Boss Toni doesn't want you to know: Toni's budgets in the last several years were "balanced" only because of COVID funding. Property taxes account for a small portion of the County budget. Preckwinkle is responsible for Cook County's combined sales tax rate of 10.25 percent, among the highest in the nation.

Lopez theorizes Johnson will run on an anti-Trump platform. Lopez points out the anti-Trump messaging was enough to return Boss Toni to office and Johnson is likely to employ the same strategy to deflect from three years of failure.

Earlier this year, a jury of her peers found Toni Preckwinkle’s political committee guilty of lying about a political opponent & was ordered to pay $1.47 million in restitution. It is no surprise Toni Preckwinkle is already attacking my record with dishonest attack ads. She can’t run on her own record of shady ethics and policy failures, so she is trying to smear and distort my record of service. Please watch this video & share. Mind you, Johnson became mayor in May 2023, some 20 months — nearly two years — before Trump returned to the White House. When told prices have risen in Chicago 7 percent since Johnson became mayor, the mayor froze momentarily and immediately shifted to blame Trump's tariffs. A world-class pivot, Johnson then rambled on for another minute and a half about his throwing money at CPS schools, support for childcare workers, summer jobs programs, affordable housing, mentioned something about fresh water, a diverse economy...............whatever stuck to the wall. Even Welker was bored with his non-answer. The mayor of Chicago is a gargantuan moron.
