We recreated Mark Rober's recent "Looney Tunes" test, to see whether Tesla Full Self-Driving and Enhanced Autopilot would stop for a fake wall. Rober was right. Enhanced Autopilot on Hardware 4 fails to detect the wall. v12.6.4 on Hardware 3 blows straight through the wall. Only v13.2.8 on Hardware 4 stops for it. Elon Musk promised over 3 million people who bought a Hardware 3 car that it had all the hardware they needed for Full Self-Driving. He promised all they needed was a software update. Elon promised that Hardware 3 robotaxis would make their owners $30,000 a year. He promised that Hardware 3 Teslas would appreciate in value to $200,000. That adds up to between $700 billion and $1 trillion. Hardware 3 Tesla owners were defrauded by Master Scammer Musk.

You know, we did think at one point it would have that, but relative to hardware, it has only 1/8 of the memory bandwidth of Hardware 4, and memory bandwidth is one of the key elements needed for Unsupervised FSD.” Tesla plans to fix it for customers who bought FSD by: A) Discounted trade-in toward a vehicle with full Hardware 4 OR B) Direct upgrade by replacing the HW3 computer and the cameras to bring the car to HW4 spec To make upgrades fast and scalable, Elon also told us that: “…we’re going to have to set up like, kind of microfactories or small factories in major metropolitan areas… So we basically need like many production lines to make the change.” He also said over time it makes sense to convert all HW3 cars to HW4 bc this is what will enable them to enter the Robotaxi fleet and have Unsupervised FSD. HW3/AI3 cars were sold under the clear promise, straight from Elon and Tesla’s own website, that the hardware was sufficient for safe, unsupervised Full Self-Driving (see video below). HW4/AI4 cars, on the other hand, were explicitly marketed as capable of Supervised FSD. At no point did Elon or Tesla suggest that HW4/AI4 would deliver unsupervised autonomy.

Elon Musk, if the defects can't be fixed on the current hardware, FSD should be disabled until those vehicles have been upgraded. Ashok Elluswamy, your next task is to stop FSD 14 from speeding in school zones.
