The press service of the Ukrainian Air Force has released new footage of combat aircraft and outlined the directions of its further development. The video shows new footage of aviation weapons, including U.S.-made AIM-120 and AIM-9M air-to-air missiles. It also shows GBU-62 JDAM-ER and GBU-39 SDB guided bombs being loaded onto Su-27 aircraft, as well as a French Mirage 2000-5F armed with R.550 Magic II missiles. Colonel Oleksandr Diakov, Commander of Aviation of the Ukrainian Air Force, said that part of the Soviet-designed aircraft fleet will remain in service, with new technical solutions continuing to be developed for these platforms. He also highlighted the continued integration of the F-16 and Mirage 2000, as well as the prospects of receiving JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets. The video also includes footage from a visit by the new Defense Minister, Yevhen Khmara, to aviation and air defense units. There, he inspected aviation equipment, met with personnel, and familiarized himself with the work of the units.

David's Sling, produced by defense firm Rafael, is designed to intercept rockets, missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft, and UAVs. The ministry says the series of tests was based on "operational lessons" learned from the war, and included a "range of challenging scenarios in line with existing and evolving threats." "The success of the tests constitutes an additional technological and operational breakthrough in upgrading the system, which demonstrated high performance capabilities during the war with successful interceptions that saved lives and prevented significant damage," it says. David’s Sling, operational since 2017, forms the middle tier of Israel’s multi-layer air defense capabilities, which also include the short-range Iron Beam and Iron Dome, and a top-tier of Arrow systems, the latter of which are intended to engage long-range ballistic missiles.

PAKISTAN AIR FORCE DEMONSTRATES COMBAT READINESS IN SOUTHERN ZONE 10 February, 2025: Pakistan Air Force successfully conducted Exercise Golden Eagle in the Southern Air Command’s area of responsibility, involving the synchronized orchestration of the complete combat potential at the disposal of Pakistan Air Force showcasing battle readiness and operational agility. The exercise was aimed at further enhancing PAF’s operational prowess through an AI-enabled, net-centric training framework, integrating niche, disruptive and smart indigenous technologies. Aligned with evolving regional security dynamics, the exercise was planned and executed on a Two-Force construct, wherein friendly forces shaped the battlespace while operating within a robust Integrated Air Defence System matrix. This was achieved through seamless fusion and collaborative employment of kinetic capabilities alongside operations across the cyber, space and Electro-Magnetic Spectrum Operations arenas. The kinetic phase of the exercise featured employment of First-Shoot, First-Kill swing-role combat aircraft, equipped with long range beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles, extended-range air-to-ground stand-off weapons, and precision strike capabilities. These operations were comprehensively supported by force multipliers, including Air-to-Air Refuelers and Airborne Early Warning & Control platforms, enabling precise and effective targeting of adversary centres of gravity. Manned–Unmanned Teaming was a key highlight of Exercise Golden Eagle, manifested through the adroit integration of deep-reach killer drones and loitering munitions operating in a highly contested, congested and degraded battlespace, thereby validating PAF’s capability to conduct high tempo operations in complex modern warfare environments. The Exercise also enabled PAF to practice and validate contemporary air warfare concepts under unified command and control from the Next-Generation All-Domain Command & Control Centre at Air Headquarters, Islamabad, while competing in a full-spectrum, modern tactical air environment.
