Finally! Canada will be taking steps to plan to double our electricity grid. Mark Carney: "Our objective is to more than double the size of Canada's electricity grid...and deliver more affordable power to Canadians." This is something I've been calling for. Canada's industrial economic expansion is constraint by our power grid. One of the most important projects that will be happening is the power line expansion is North West BC, which will also be all local industries. We need to do it ASAP.

Why solar cannot realistically power the electricity grid. "To power 100,000 homes for one hour, you need 50,000 tonnes of solar panels." "If I want to produce this hour of electricity in the evening when the sun isn't shining, well then I need batteries." "For one hour of electricity for this 100,000 homes, you need... about two basketball courts worth of batteries." "But of course I have to charge these batteries, so that means I need additional solar in the grid so that we have an excess to charge them. So we add another [10,000 tonnes] of solar panels." "This is for one hour."

It is now the seventh day – something that has never happened before – of an emergency situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Because of Russian shelling, the plant has been cut off from power, disconnected from the electrical grid, and is being supplied with electricity by diesel generators. This is extraordinary. The generators and the plant were not designed for this, have never operated in this mode for long, and we already have information that one generator has failed. It is Russian shelling that prevents repair of the power lines to the plant and the restoration of basic safety. This is a threat to everyone – no terrorist in the world has ever dared to do to a nuclear plant what Russia is doing. And it is right that the world does not stay silent.

VIDEO: FAAN Confirms Power Outage At Lagos Airport, Blames Switchover A viral video has shown the moment Lagos International Airport plunged into darkness due to a power outage. The blackout, which reportedly happened on Friday night led to passengers navigating through the terminal using their mobile phones for light, as shown in a video shared by Francis Izu on his X account on Saturday. Coal prices have risen internationally but Ukraine had nothing to do with #energy prices rising in Australia. Investment in #solar and #wind is to blame. It is important that the government in this country start facing reality and stop hiding the problem. The #Ukraine has nothing to do with #coal prices in this country. In fact, Australian coal prices did not rise at all under their existing long term contracts for our #coal-fired power stations. The government must stop misleading parliament that rising electricity prices in Australia are due to a war in the Ukraine. Massive solar and wind #subsidies are the cause of Australians suffering some of the highest #electricity prices in the world. Every time a coal fired power station is shut in this country we see yet the another spike in our power bills because unreliable #renewables cannot provide the same inexpensive baseload power supply. This government's Safeguard Mechanism Bill will add even more fines to reliable coal-fired power and yet more pain for Australian households. #UnitedNations #ClimateScam #Australia

I am pleased to learn that the first-ever Independent Power Project (IPP) in Ekiti State has been completed and commissioned by my successor, Governor Biodun Oyebanji Biodun Oyebanji. Two years ago, we initiated this project in response to the very poor #electricity supply to Ekiti through the national grid system. We recognised that the only way to prevent this issue from further negatively impacting our socioeconomic and industrial growth was to provide a significant and innovative intervention. This led us to enter into a partnership with Fenchurch Power Ltd Fenchurch Group NG to independently generate power for the consumption of the state, in addition to what is obtainable from the national grid. With the success of this project, I believe that investors within the power sector will take advantage of the "willing seller, willing buyer" template.
