Why solar cannot realistically power the electricity grid. "To power 100,000 homes for one hour, you need 50,000 tonnes of solar panels." "If I want to produce this hour of electricity in the evening when the sun isn't shining, well then I need batteries." "For one hour of electricity... show more

@elonmusk disagrees with this. He thinks solar+batteries is the holy grail of energy.

You can tell he's a shill bc he didn't say half a ton for every house. You need the same solar panels regardless of time, but he said an hour, implying you need more for the next hour. Solar isn't standalone. It offloads expensive power plants at day making it cheaper overall, so his battery example is invalid as well. Hardcore propaganda as always when it comes to this channel and subject.

Don't share this negativity with Elon Musk...

if its not happening in Hawaii, it's not possible

But they don't burn billions of litres of Fossil fuel

This math is completely wrong, You need 50,000 panels NOT 50,000 tonnes of panels...I'm not a fan of grid solar but you've got to at least be accurate with your info. Your math is wrong by a factor of about 50!

And you burn millions of BTU to produce the panels and batteries

@elonmusk dislikes your facts😡🤣

Green energy is a money making scam.
