“There are more companies than ideas by quite a bit. Compute is large enough such that it's not obvious that you need that much more compute to prove some idea. AlexNet was built on 2 GPUs. The transformer was built on 8 to 64 GPUs. Which would be, what, 2 GPUs of today? You could argue that o1 reasoning was not the most compute heavy thing in the world. For research, you definitely need some amount of compute, but it's far from obvious that you need the absolutely largest amount of compute. Great #ces2026 Report #7: The company inside the coolest AI products at CES. Makes low power AI chips inside a wide range of consumer products. Watches, rings, AI glasses, medical devices, all use their chips because they are best at running neural networks at very low power. I've been touring the suites all morning, getting a look at augmented reality AI glasses. It's quite clear that the Pickle glasses are not possible with today's technology, and I'll have a video up someday soon about that with several different vendors. So agree with others that it is selling something that isn’t currently possible to manufacture. I got a look at the latest state-of-the-art technologies that go into the glasses, and this is the first part of that. This gives you a lot of insights into the future.

By the time I arrived as head of production for Nickelodeon, ANGRY BEAVERS (1997) had already premiered. I will say, despite the tension between the production team and the network, the show was one of the best quality series coming out of the studio. From a technical side, it was a wonder to behold. Some of which you can see in this main title.

SoftBank is creating the biggest data center. On Fox Business, Arm CEO and SoftBank Group International CEO Rene Haas was asked what he thinks about Meta selling compute, which could mean a compute supply glut. Haas disagreed, pointing to SpaceX's compute deal with Anthropic as proof of real demand, not oversupply. He said Meta's situation is similar, and that only a handful of companies, SpaceX, Meta, and SoftBank, have the financial muscle to compete at gigawatt scale, which is why SoftBank is moving in.

These are the Rokid Glasses A pair of smart glasses very similar to the Meta RayBan but powered by the AR1, with the addition of a Monochrome binocular Waveguide display for Live translation, Ai recognition, teleprompter, navigation and more. Plus like the RayBan camera and audio. The live translation was surprisingly good, and fast. They are already available in China. Hopefully we will get them in the US soon! They are just 49 grams! It's crazy to see how the smart glasses are evolving fast. #CES2025 #rokid The last video is from their Air Max 2 6DoF version, for AR at the museum!
