This is already explicitly criminalised under Section 66B of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 (as inserted/amended by section 188 of the Online Safety Act 2023, which came into force on 31 January 2024. This strengthened and replaced the older "revenge porn" offence under section 33 of the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015. So the proposed new legislation is just performative displacement by this ineffectual Government.
