Waymo is testing on highways without any human operators in SF on the 101. I hope to see Tesla open up highways soon in Austin. The Model Y that they delivered autonomously drove flawlessly on the highway for about 20 minutes, so they’re close. Plus, unlike Waymo, Tesla has billions of real-world highway data from the public Tesla fleet. We shall see.

Last week, Askari Defense made a large first delivery to an elite unit inside the DoW for a live range demo. After numerous kinetic intercepts against simulated enemy quad-rotors, they were asked about fixed wing intercept capability. As soon as they got back, they generated a CAD model of a fixed-wing drone and imported it file into their FULLY SYNTHETIC vision training pipeline. In other words, they had no real life vision testing data against the fixed wing, but all they needed was the CAD file. 72hrs later, they validated it with a center-mass, fully autonomous intercept. The impact will have on the preservation of human lives is immense.

The vast majority of Americans have no idea how far ahead China actually is. China has AI autonomous delivery, humanoid robots, 45,000 km of highspeed rail, droids in many hotels and restaurants, national worker's healthcare, low tuition costs, driverless taxis, and most adults own their own home outright. The US should be taking notes. And that's why I keep posting. I want my fellow Americans to wake up and see that there is a better way.

During his interview with CNBC, Elon confirmed that there would be fully autonomous Teslas on the streets of Austin by the end of June. I predicted that Tesla would not have non-geofenced, unsupervised Full Self-Driving Teslas in Austin by July 1. Today is July 1, and Elon's predictions were completely wrong. By his own definition of intelligence, he is not that smart. I have always been better at predicting things about Tesla Full Self-Driving than Elon Musk is. That's why No Safe Words crowned me the "world's leading autonomous vehicle safety expert". As I predicted, Tesla's "Robotaxi" is geofenced to a small area in Austin. It is not autonomous, and is supervised both remotely and from the passenger seat. The only passengers it has carried so far are Tesla Cultists and shareholders. Tesla has not launched a real robotaxi service like the one Waymo operates. The 11 supervised robotaxis it has deployed made at least 17 safety critical and driving errors in just the first week of operation. Elon predicted in October 2024 that Tesla would have a 30% growth in sales in 2025. Tesla's sales fell 13% in Q1 2025 and tomorrow's delivery numbers are expected to be similarly terrible. I predict that Tesla's sales growth in 2025 will be less than 30%. Elon also predicted every year for the past 11 years that Tesla would solve autonomous driving by the end of the year. His predictions have been wrong every single year for over a decade. I predict that Tesla will not solve autonomous driving this year. Top robots are already hitting ~10s per 100 meter, getting surprisingly close to human sprint limits. 3. You can also see much better safety design upfront. Way more structured than last year’s chaos. 4. Still, failures happen. Marathon distance pushes motors, structure, and control to the limit. What works in short demos breaks down over longer runs. Overall, a big step forward, but also a reminder that real-world robotics is still far from the polished demo videos you get fed from companies.
