once i had hit a certain point in life , i did this for about two years. i traveled the entire world hunting for the most beautiful beaches with perfect waves. then i visited Kelly Slater’s surf ranch, located in the middle of nowhere, somewhere in California. every wave, constructed from the most perfect computational fluid dynamic simulations & complex nonlinear partial differential equations of fluid motion. “perfection” was made by the worlds best Wave Theorists, PhD’s, Mathematicians and Engineers. there is a lesson here.

I made a dumb mistake with my water shader🤦🏻‍♂️ The wave evolution equation has two parts: a standing wave component and a traveling wave component. When I was first getting this all to work, I hard-coded constants so the waves were always traveling forward at full speed. By adding a "standing wave ratio" where I can control the ratio between the two terms, I can now achieve wave patterns that oscillate in place. The video on the left has SWR = 0 and the video on the right SWR = 0.7 (I exaggerated the waves a bit to make the difference more noticeable). Now I have to re-record all my marketing videos...😭

Classic physics can't explain where the light is coming from in Sonoluminescence. It's just sound waves resonating in water, how can light be produced? Fusion. Uh oh, how can that be? It's not hot enough. The water isn't boiling and glass isn't breaking. Cavitation is a negative energy pressure, equivalent to the Casimir Effect. It must causing ions to fuse. That’s insane! 🤯 A student built an acoustic levitation divide with an Arduino board. He built it using an Arduino Nano, a motor driver, and 60 ultrasonic transducers that can levitate low-density objects in place indefinitely. The transducers send out 40 kHz waves that create standing waves. The interference pattern produces nulls that trap objects. High-pressure areas form below and above the object, locking it in the low-pressure area between them. The transducers produce two sound waves moving in opposing directions at the same frequency and amplitude. The effect is that the low-pressure areas don't appear to move, like whipping a rope from both ends and having the wave meet in the middle. Sound waves are oscillating at high and low pressures. By creating a sound wave that doesn't move forward (a standing wave), you create areas of constant pressure. 🔉 Objects get trapped in the null points between high-pressure zones.
