Messages exclusively obtained by CBS News' Cristian Benavides show Lynette Hooker told a friend in 2024 that she split from husband Brian Hooker after just weeks of sailing together, writing, “We were married years 21 years. Our marriage lasted 6 weeks cruising.” In the messages, Hooker said “it was real bad” and told her friend, “I can’t be out there with him,” before the couple later reconciled. Brian Hooker is currently being questioned by police in the Bahamas after telling authorities Lynette went overboard during a nighttime boat ride.
