Common sense: to grow your economy and increase employment, you must produce high-value (finished) goods. Economics 101: Your “comparative advantage” is low-value raw materials. Other countries can build and sell you finished goods for cheaper. Shut down your manufacturing.

Today, I got a parking ticket from a City Parking vehicle with a camera while I was stopped at a traffic light. The City Parking vehicle crossed the intersection as I waited to move. When we later parked, the marshal told us we already had a ticket from two minutes earlier. I wonder how many people are being told they have arrears they don’t even know about. Because we usually don’t have time to argue over these charges, we just pay them, yet it feels like smart stealing from the public.
