Broke down on Mojo Story after hearing barkha dutt talk to Arpit Jaj's parents. 💔 ​𝟭𝟴-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿-𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝗽𝗶𝘁 𝗝𝗮𝗷 had his entire life, every dream, and a bright future ahead of him at ARSD College. His father drives a taxi & his mother runs a tiny parlour at home. They took crippling loans, and sacrificed every drop of sweat just to give their son a chance at a better life by studying in Delhi. ​Today, instead of receiving his college degree, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 from the Satya Niketan PG collapse. ​Yet, in the middle of unimaginable, soul-crushing grief, these heartbroken parents made a choice: 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗽𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀 ; hoping another child can see the dreams their own boy was never allowed to live. ​How Fu(kin dare we boast about being a global superpower when we cannot even guarantee basic safety or a secure roof over our students' heads? 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗚 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗼-𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽-𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗽𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. ​We failed Arpit. We failed his parents. How long will all of us stay silent ?
