Build a humanoid robot yourself! 🪚 OpenArm is an open-source humanoid robot. It comes with full CAD, control code, firmware, and simulation tools, everything needed to build, modify, and operate it. The arms are designed to be compliant and backdrivable. Teleoperation is supported, with force feedback and real-time gravity... compensation so operators can guide the arm naturally. Super important, on the simulation side, OpenArm works with platforms like MuJoCo and Isaac Sim, letting developers test policies in virtual environments before running on hardware. Assemble it yourself from a kit or get it prebuilt, the goal is accessibility for research labs, small teams, and enthusiasts. This humanoid robot appears to be primarily designed for specialized industrial tasks, such as security patrols in underground parking lots. They previously launched the lightweight bipedal NVAI-2 and a wheeled humanoid robot. Open-source dexterous hands with fingertip sensors! 🪬 ORCA Dexterity just released three dexterous hand models. Their mission: is to democratize robotic hand dexterity. They're sharing progress on exceptional, low-cost hardware and a software layer from low-level control to robotic hand learning. This is the open-source approach to dexterous manipulation. It has 83 taxels per finger with 0.1 N force detection which pretty is impressive for an open-source design. Tactile sensing is critical for dexterous manipulation, knowing contact forces enables gentle grasping, slip detection, and force-controlled assembly. Yesterday, I passed by a subway entrance in Guangzhou and experienced a retail kiosk operated by a humanoid robot again, buying a bottle of water. The process was the same: select items on a screen, scan a QR code for mobile payment, and the humanoid robot retrieves the product. (However, it didn't interact with me at all.) I looked it up, and the wheeled humanoid robot is named S1, from AutoLife Robotics in Shenzhen. It uses omnidirectional wheels for movement and a lifting body. It's 1-1.6m tall, weighs 72kg, and has a 10-hour battery life. A single arm can carry 3-5kg. Furthermore, this humanoid robot is suitable for lightweight tasks in retail, convenience stores, supermarkets, and warehouse sorting.

We're introducing EnvHub to LeRobot! Upload simulation environments to the @hugginigface hub, and load them in lerobot, with one line of code ! env = lerobot.make_env("username/my-env", trust_remote_code=True) Back in 2017, OpenAI called on the community to build Gym environments. Today, we're doing the same for robotics. We're calling researchers, students, hobbyists, labs, and startups to publish complex envs, tasks, and benchmarks on the Hub, so we see how robot policies perform. (in Isaaac, Mujoco, Genesis, etc..) Fill out and submit the form linked in the comments to join the effort!
