Such a dishonest graphic. In my job - engineer - my ethics would be called into question if I published something like that. Earth's estimated temperature over time below. But if this data was used then that little graphic wouldn't have all that deceptive red would it.

As an engineer, do you regularly get asked how well your solutions would have worked during the dark ages? The climate 200 million years ago is interesting, but its relevance to our modern civilization is about the same as the relevance of the dark ages to modern engineering.

We have little solid temperature records in almost all the world prior to 1920. So, the early temperatures are made up. NOAA and NASA cook the temp books. They Cool the past and warm the near present. All part of the #ClimateScam

I mean, none of that's true, but whatever helps you sleep at night. Very notably in this context, the global average is not the same as the USA average. The total effect of bias corrections and other adjustments to the global average is actually to reduce the long-term trend.

You are exceptionally patient with these deniers in your thread, kudos. Do they really think noone measured the temperature before 1900? Navy shiplogs are available from 1700s, with daily meterological record from across the oceans...

So as CO2 increased, temperature dropped. As CO2 increased more, temperature stayed the same. Then in 1980 as CO2 increased, temperature increased. Maybe it's not CO2:

It is fair to say that temperature isn't exclusively controlled by carbon dioxide. At the same time, it is pretty hard to look at a comparison of recent carbon dioxide and temperature, and not expect that those things are likely to be related.

So the first 200 years of the industrial age had no impact on global temperatures but suddenly the last 5 years it is the cause? Sketchy.

A) Temperatures have been increasing for a century, first slowly and then more quickly. B) More than half of all the fossil fuel consumption in human history has occurred since 1990.
