We're open-sourcing Asimov v1, a humanoid robot. With Asimov v1, you can build, train on, and make it your own humanoid robot. It's the first step of building a humanoid labor force for the rest of us. Asimov v1 is 1.2 m tall, 35 kg, with 25 actuated degrees of freedom. Structural parts machined in 7075 aluminium and 3D-printed in MJF PA12 nylon. We're releasing the mechanical design and simulation files. Ready for locomotion policy training out of the box. The BOM is open too. Source everything yourself, or order the DIY Kit. All components, ready to assemble. $499 deposit, $15,000 target price. Ships end of summer 2026. Say hello to text-to-cad, an open source tool for generating 3D models in Codex! Prompt and edit complex 3D models. Export STEP, STL, GLB, DXF and URDF files. Built for CAD newbies. Link to github below. CAD is hard. As a software engineer getting back into robotics, I’ve been humbled by new tools like Onshape. Struggling to kick old habits, I started prompting Codex to generate 3D models and had some limited succes. After a few iterations I found a recipe that actually works: 1. Generate a python script for every STEP file. The agent can easily edit each part’s source without touching the raw STEP file. Use build123d > cadquery. 2. Reference specific faces and edges in prompts for precise edits. I built a basic local ui to inspect / cache STEP B-reps to make this easier. 3. Maintain markdown explaining important part features in plain English so the model can index on project context quickly. 4. Verify results with screenshots and geometry. Models don’t have great spatial awareness, but they can interpret images and verify constraints very well. For the best results I’ve been using GPT 5.4 xhigh / Opus 4.6+. Fair warning, this will burn through tokens, I recommend the Pro/Max plans if you’re planning on building anything serious. PRs welcome!

Someone vibe coded a fully interactive 3D human anatomy app using GPT-5.6 Sol and Codex, and it started from a single design image. GPT Image 2.0 generated the design. Every organ image was generated from it and converted to 3D models through Tripo AI. Codex took those models, a master prompt and the design image and built the first version. The models were nearly 150MB each and running at 16fps, so Codex optimized everything down to 2 to 5.5MB per model and reduced total assets from 900MB to 28.6MB while keeping the visual quality intact. Codex also generated the anatomical illustrations showing where each organ sits, and created the interactive hotspot markers explaining different parts of every organ. Live and fully open source.

Can frontier language models turn a technical drawing into real CAD? We ran the experiment. Gemini 3.1 Pro, Claude Opus 4.7, and GPT-5.4 got a set of technical drawings and were asked to reproduce a part as a valid 3D CAD model. Still a far way to go, but clearly a sign of life.
