Built this 3D-printed VTOL fixed-wing aircraft from scratch. The airframe is made from ABS/ASA, reinforced with carbon fiber, and powered by an F405 flight controller with GPS-assisted flight modes. Seeing a pile of parts turn into a flying aircraft is always worth the effort. 🚁➡️✈️

One of the first aircraft to use electrical flight controls with no mechanical linkages, the Balzac 001 was an experimental VTOL aircraft developed by Dassault in the early 1960s. Built as a technology demonstrator for the planned Mirage IIIV supersonic fighter, it was powered by eight Rolls-Royce RB.108 lift engines and a single Bristol Siddeley Orpheus turbojet. The aircraft achieved its first free flight in October 1962 and completed the first full transition from vertical takeoff to horizontal flight in March 1963 but was destroyed in an accident the following year.

DEADLY AIRCRAFT ICE!! This can take down an aircraft faster than you think, unless the aircraft is properly equipped. Visible moisture (clouds) + freezing temperature = ice. Especially in tops of cumulus clouds, even in the hot summer months. For us pilots I’m canada, winter, spring and fall offer lots of icy IFR flying to contend with. If your aircraft isn’t certified for flight in icing conditions, cancel the flight, and fly another day 🫡👨‍✈️👩‍✈️✈️ 📸 by ig/evan_lufty

TRANSITION FLIGHT | Midnight has completed transition flight at a speed of 100+ MPH – taking off vertically, accelerating until it transitions from thrust-borne to wing-borne flight, cruising on the wing and then landing again vertically. While the pilot operates the aircraft, our team monitors from the telemetry trailer, gathering holistic aircraft data like engine temperatures, airspeed, and battery levels. Each part of the aircraft is represented, with members from the battery, engine, propellor, flight control systems, guidance navigation & controls, and flight test instrumentation teams gathering data and monitoring real-time performance during flight. This test data helps to validate aircraft performance across mission profiles, supporting safe flights and preparing us for public operations.

The L3Harris OA-1K Skyraider II currently with the 137th Special Operations Wing. The Skyraider II is a single-engine, fixed-wing aircraft designed for light attack and armed intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) for SOCOM. Introduced in 2025 by AFSOC, it's inspired by the legendary Douglas A-1 Skyraider (1946-1980s). It was developed from the Air Tractor AT-802, an American aircraft that is used for agriculture and firefighting and has been militarized in other programs. Equipped with 10 hard points, this versatile aircraft is able to carry a large combination of ordinance.

Pilot made to take a mid-air U-turn as the airline deployed an aircraft which had no clearance to fly into Canada. Passengers suffer on an 8-hour flight to nowhere. #Breaking 👉Air India B787 Aircraft VT-ANB, while operating flight AI-171 from (Ahmedabad to Gatwick) has crashed immediately after takeoff from Ahmedabad. 👉There were 242 people on board the aircraft, consisting of 2 pilots and 10 cabin crew. The aircraft was under the command of Capt Sumeet Sabharwal with First Officer Clive Kundar. 👉Capt Sumeet Sabharwal is an LTC with 8200 hours of experience. The copilot had 1100 hours of flying experience. 👉As per ATC, the aircraft departed from Ahmadabad at 1339 IST (0809 UTC) from runway 23. It gave a MAYDAY Call to ATC, but thereafter, no response was given by the aircraft to the calls made by ATC. 👉Aircraft immediately after departure from Runway 23, fell on the ground outside the airport perimeter. Heavy black smoke was seen coming from the accident site.
