Caleb Williams - Took a long stride to avoid the tackle and went down non-contact. Not seeing too much at the knee. This one could just be a hamstring injury but I’ll keep analyzing it.

Went back and looked at the Toppin injury and it does appear (hard to tell with confidence) that Diop's knee makes contact with the side of Toppin's right knee area. Best case scenario is that it's just a contusion.

This was the play that got Lu Dort ejected. The contact with Nikola Jokić appeared to be targeting his previously injured left knee. Some OKC fans are arguing it was just incidental contact and that Jokić sold it. But when asked, lead referee James Williams was clear that the action met the criteria for a flagrant foul due to the nature of the contact: “Lu Dort was assessed a flagrant foul penalty 2 because we deemed his contact on Jokić to be unnecessary and excessive with a high potential for injury, and also because the contact led to an altercation that did not dissolve. So, by rule, a flagrant foul penalty 2 carries an automatic ejection.”

Do more hill sprints. Hamstring strains are the #1 injury in contact sports and its one of the biggest reasons athletes never develop one of the most valuable qualities in sport - Speed. Hill sprinting is a smart way to reintroduce high-speed running if you’re cautious about hamstring injuries. The incline naturally shortens stride length and reduces peak hamstring strain compared to flat sprinting. Yes — nothing replaces flat max-velocity sprinting. But you have to be conditioned for it. Here’s a back angle of the same play. This is a clean play IMO. I see some mild contact here, but no tackle “from behind” is performed which has been alluded to by some. Jakob is not a dirty player and has never proven to be. Kuithe plants with his left leg at the top of the route and you see a slight buckling inward of the left knee (valgus force which is typical in ACL tears.) This is normal contact with a TE/DB at the top of a route. Jakob disengages with his body after the initial contact. It appears to be a left knee injury. Possibly an ACL tear with some collateral damage based off the mechanism. Kuithe begins to hobble after the plant and eventually falls to the turf. Kuithe, in 2022 suffered an ACL injury and meniscus tear to his right knee. Data shows that once you’ve had an ACL Injury, there is a higher risk of injuring your opposite knee than your reconstructed knee. Furthermore, there is increasing data supporting the elevated risk of ACL injuries correlated to turf as well as style and type of cleats. My heart goes out to Kuithe.

At Tozaisen this week, Tomoza landed what appears to be a crossup Double Knee. I took it into training mode for a bit, but the timing and spacing is so specific that I couldn't hit it with much consistency. By the way, TMF and TMZ had a great run so check out the video!

So this is a landing space foul because there is foot to foot contact, but thankfully it's not a flagrant, and the natural sway on the fade means SGA's feet flow forward. This is one they could keep refining in terms of the rules

Ashton Ward won’t return & will go for scans after suffering a hamstring injury. Mechanism not a common one - don’t see a hamstring strain during goal kicking very often. Already tough to have a quick return from hamstring injuries, but significantly limited his function (had to be helped off) so worry for at least a partial tear & multi week recovery.

Left lower leg for De’Zhaun Stribling Non-contact but not a good angle to see if the Achilles went. Concerns for: 1. Achilles 2. Calf strain 3. Fibular/Ankle injury Probably in that order. Was helped into the medical tent non-weight bearing.
