For our 250th, I recommend Esther Forbes a real historian who wrote Johnny Tremain, historical fiction set in 1773 Boston.

Pro tip to kids: read the classics, and get a good annotated edition! Vocabbett Classics have definitions and explanations at the bottom of each page, but there are MANY good ones!

I love this. Reading with my kids, taking them to story time at book stores and challenging them to read more while reading with them is a wonderful way to educate them, bond with them and expand their minds.

This is a Great idea! Thank you for encouraging reading. @SLOTUS Our library in my little rural home town had a program like this every summer. I’d ride my bike there and spend hours reading and picking out books. I fully credit that program with my love of reading throughout my life.
