If you're running to a connecting flight or are barely making call time for whatever you're doing, people likely should be able to read that and be like "Let me not get in the way" Some people just are selfish and are like "oh here's my opportunity to get this pic"

a "long" picture would be what would be professionally done. Set up proper lighting and all that stuff. a quick picture should be really named an informal picture, plus "quick" is a relative term, as you explained

1. English as a whole is such a messy language. 2. I see it as a bit of a persuasion or manipulation tactic. It reinforces that the "quick picture" will not be an inconvenience even if you are in a hurry.

One day someone will say to you "can I get a picture" and when you say yes they'll bust out a canvass and a paintbrush. Then you'll understand why some people say quick picture.
