Jerome Powell still believes that President Trump's strategic tariffs will cause sustained inflation. Instead of lowering interest rates because inflation is now at a four-year-low, Powell would rather keep rates near 20 year highs because tariffs *might* be inflationary at *some point* in the future. Being wishy washy is no way to run the United States Federal Reserve. Real people are hurting because of the Fed's high rates.
