Police will be conducting high visibility foot patrols in key areas, managing traffic flow, and will be continuously monitoring activity to respond quickly across the region in the lead up to and on Canada Day. Unsafe behaviour such as misuse of fireworks puts everyone at real risk, impacting residents, homes and businesses. We will not tolerate disorderly conduct. Illegal activity will result in enforcement action, including tickets, seizure of fireworks, charges and arrests. In preparation, we have been working in close partnership with municipalities, by-law and other emergency services to implement additional proactive measures such as barriers, lighting and operational plans to facilitate everyone’s safety and security. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta outlines the government's Heatwave Action Plan. She says, "Clear guidelines have been issued to every ministry. For workers, rest from 1 to 4 p.m., along with provisions for water and shade, must be made mandatory. In schools, cool water for children, a clean environment, and administering ORS before sending them home will be ensured as a top priority. Additionally, the transport department will set up water counters at bus shelters, and cold water will be provided in DTC buses via cool boxes."

The Green Electric Bus Command and Control Center Punjab has started operations. This center serves as the hub for monitoring and managing the entire bus system. From here, every bus is monitored to ensure timely arrivals and departures, improved routes, and reduced waiting times for passengers. Drivers are monitored through onboard cameras and advanced AI systems, and if a driver shows signs of drowsiness or inattention, they are immediately alerted. Special attention is being given to the women’s compartments to ensure they are protected from harassment and can travel safely and without fear. Travel is now cashless and paperless through T-Cash cards. This system helps continuously improve services using data. Steps are also being taken to protect the environment by shifting towards solar energy, while safe and comfortable travel, especially for women, children, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities remains a top priority. This is clean, economical, safe, and modern public transport for Punjab.

I visited the Jaway Wharf community with the Board Members of Ghana Maritime Authority to gain first-hand insight into current marine transport activities. As a border town, most movement in the area is done by boats. We engaged community members on the importance of safety in their daily operations. We also held discussions with the Ghana Navy and Ghana Immigration Service, who shared some of the challenges they face. With a Ghana Maritime Authority office set to be established soon, the safety needs of the community will be better addressed through the provision of logistics and public education to ensure smooth and secure operations. #jomoromp #deputytransportministry #JomoroAnyelazo

There is no difference between a premium train and a local bus when some passengers think the entire coach belongs to them. Shouting, loud conversations, videos without earphones, and complete disregard for fellow passengers have become far too common. People pay extra for trains like Shatabdi expecting a comfortable and peaceful journey, not endless noise pollution. A train coach is a shared public space, not someone's drawing room. Basic civic sense should not be optional. Indian Railways must start imposing strict penalties on passengers who repeatedly disturb others and ruin the travel experience for everyone. Sri Lanka has begun a long-overdue modernization of its public bus system. The pilot operation began in April 2026 with 10 accessible low-floor buses, and 104 additional Metro buses are scheduled to arrive by August 2026. This is how Thashmika Arosh, a university student with a disability, experienced his first journey on a Metro bus. For decades, wheelchair users in Sri Lanka have had almost no practical access to public buses. The Safe City Project is our commitment to building a safer, smarter city for women, children, senior citizens, pedestrians and every resident powered by technology and coordinated action. We reviewed progress on several fronts today which are Technology-driven policing, to maximise use of HD CCTV surveillance, Integrated Command & Control Centres in all commissionerates , Intelligent Traffic Management Systems, AI and smart monitoring for stronger crime prevention and faster emergency response. 12 Mobile She Toilets are already functional across the city We decided to have 12 more so that each of 12 zones in the 3 municipal corporations have two each . 2,306 cameras operational under Phase-I, with 862 more underway in Phase-II. Instructed all cameras be kept fully functional at all times. Pelican Signals (Pedestrian signals) to be active now at 77 locations which will be attempted to be utilised by using traffic volunteers to help pedestrians cross over . GHMC will maintain all the 404 traffic signals and improve pedestrian infrastructure in congestion-prone areas. For public awareness, directed continued use of our mobile campaign vehicles to educate citizens on safety, traffic rules, cybercrime and anti-drug initiatives.
