Challenge accepted. PocketJS now has the core interaction primitives behind this: gesture-driven, interruptible transitions, with JavaScript controlling every frame. Running smoothly on iPod touch 4 with a single-core 800 MHz A4, tens of times slower than a modern iPhone.

This UI is Pocket Shell. It’s how you’ll open and move between Pocket apps. Every device deserves a shell built for how it wants to be used, from Nintendo 3DS to Sony PSP. More soon.

It's a perfect copy of Palm WebOS.

We have plan to revive the UX of all these great OS 🙏

@TuioFur

Seriously impressive! How much of this smoothness comes from the interaction model itself vs. the rendering architecture underneath?

Ive been impressed by this project, would you build a full blown app with it like a PWA for a phone? Assuming we get the same performance benefits for the phone and laptop inside the browser or is this really made for other devices? it almost seems like a great place to start for an OS

PocketJS, I’ve been watching your work and I want to dm you about framebuffer support! I’ve found some neat framebuffer stuff for macOS and iOS and I’d like to share!

Where can I follow a simple tutorial to install this on an iPod Touch 4?

wow this is much better than whatever FirefoxOS phone released back in the day!! (hello #Boot2Gecko)

does it work on my iphone 4 ? (ios 7.1.2)

How so smooooth
