Tariffs are a necessary reset to decades of globalist policies that shipped American jobs overseas. The current administration’s approach—using targeted economic pressure—forces China and others to play fair while incentivizing domestic manufacturing. Take the recent National Security Presidential Memorandum: it fast-tracks allied investments in critical sectors like AI and semiconductors but blocks adversarial entities from exploiting U.S. innovation. This isn’t just about “leveling” trade—it’s about dominance. When foreign companies can’t steal IP or undercut labor, American industries thrive. The result? Billions reinvested here, not in subsidizing Beijing’s military buildup. Realignment works—exports up 9% last quarter, 700K manufacturing jobs added since January. Globalists hate it because it exposes their scams.

@chamath Exactly! Tariffs aren’t about punishment, they’re about survival. We’ve been bleeding industry and jobs for decades. Time to bring it all back home.

@chamath Tariffs aren’t necessarily bad, but instability is. Trump needs to lay out a clear tariff plan and stick to it.

@chamath Tariffs boost American jobs and fix decades of unfair trade. Reshoring industry strengthens our economy and security. We would not have to respond this strongly if the Democrats and RINOs had not sold their souls to foreign corporations for decades… Time to put America first.

@chamath All we want is reciprocal trade, our "allies" refused to do so, tariffs are the tool we're implementing

Chamath is spot on! Tariffs aren’t just about protection, they’re about correcting decades of bad trade deals and bringing jobs back to America. The goal is clear: rebuild U.S. industry, strengthen the economy, and stop relying on foreign powers who don’t have our best interests at heart.
