Burglaries are down 30% in L.A. over the last year. Homicides dropped by 19% in 2025 to the lowest since the 1960s. We are acting strategically and aggressively to stop organized burglary from targeting Angelenos – during the past month alone, LAPD has made more than 100 burglary-related arrests. These efforts require resources, manpower and officers on the ground – and that is why I will continue fighting to hire more LAPD officers to keep Angelenos safe.

This is the first time since 1965 National Guard troops are federalized and deployed without the request and support of the Governor or local authorities. We’re also filing a FOIA request because we want to know: Who are these masked men, and why are they masked in the first place? All of this needs to stop. How ironic is it that I had to sign an executive order to protect Angelenos from our own federal government?

Look at the terror people in Gaza are living through. This bombing and explosion happened yesterday, and the fear continues to follow everyone who is there. I am outside Gaza now and in a safe place, yet I carry a deep sense of guilt because my family and so many others are not. They are human beings, just like anyone else in the world, and no one deserves to live every day under this constant fear and terror.

California is fighting to end this chaos by: 💥Requiring schools and public hospitals to limit access and implement privacy protocols to protect against Trump’s immigration chaos. 💥 Schools are now required to work with families and personnel to develop notification protocols when immigration authorities are present on campus. 💥 Most federal officers are now banned from concealing their faces. 💥 Most law enforcement are now required to publicly display their agency and name or badge number.
