I once had a driver (Atl) who tried to pull that one time, so i left it open ordered a Lyft instead and then wouldn’t respond to his messages. It ended up locking him down all night through some glitch bc i refused to cancel 🤷🏼‍♀️

This happens all the time with Uber. ust never post vids. But Ahmad broke the previous 25 min record of the Uber driver who was 2 mins away for 20 mins. He waited patiently for me to cancel while I had dinner. there's part of me that really respects the patience 😂

Drivers get a negative rating in the system if they cancel a ride. It’s not this serious, just cancel the ride. Costs the rider nothing typically, but it does impact the driver.

If the rider cancels after 5-10 mins the rider is charged a cancellation fee that goes to the driver that never was coming to get them

They do this in Mexico too, but it got so widespread here that now we got an option to have the app look for another driver, and one of the reasons is "the driver isn't moving" or "the driver is driving away from my location"

My uber eats driver did this same thing. I ordered chipotle less than 1.5 miles from my crib. This dude was riding around with my food for over 40 minutes before he finally dropped it off. All the food was cold by the time he dropped it off and @UberEats wasn’t helpful at all.

This reminds me of the Chicago Uber driver who ended my ride and put me out on the side of the road for the greatest reason ever: “My opps be over there” I was grateful for the info.

This has happened several times in NYC; I just book a lyft in parallel to get home. After 2 hours he messaged me asking me to cancel because he couldn't accept other rides until I did.

I did this once - took over an hour before he eventually cancelled it and had driven 50+ miles the other way. He must have sent me 30 texts begging me to cancel.

happened to me with an uber once, I just let it run and called a lyft instead, after 45 minutes she finally gave up and rice to my pick up, i was already 2 beers deep at the bar, let her just sit there till she cancelled

This has happened to me a few times and i never backed down, they either canceled, came and got me or i chose another ride share and all night that Uber driver was stuck at a stand still. Don't play with my time and money
