‼️‼️🇺🇸 BREAKING - The Pentagon is creating a fleet of amphibious aircraft The US National Defense Act contains a clause on a "pilot program for the contractual operation of a fleet of commercial amphibious aviation resources... for carrying out missions in the Indo-Pacific region". Thus, the Pentagon intends to fill the gap in the complete absence of amphibious aircraft for carrying out logistical or search and rescue operations in the conditions of the Indo-Pacific region, including during possible military operations. It is particularly important to note China's efforts in this direction, which just half a year ago launched the serial production of the largest amphibious aircraft, the AG600. Currently, the US does not have a single amphibious aircraft in service. Previous such aircraft, such as the HU16 Albatross, were used during the Korean and Vietnam wars, but were decommissioned in the 1980s.
