A robot withstood −47°C cold and walked 130,000 steps The company Unitree tested its humanoid robot G1 in a high-altitude area of China’s Xinjiang region. At temperatures as low as −47.5°C, the robot walked across snow a distance equivalent to 130,000 steps. During the experiment, the robot trampled the Olympic rings into the snow — an emblem roughly 186 × 100 meters in size, visible from above. To prevent equipment failure, G1 was dressed in an insulated jacket and gloves.

Chinese humanoid robotics company LimX Dynamics has unveiled COSA (Cognitive Operating System of Agents). COSA is described as a unified "brain-body" architecture that allows the robot to think and act simultaneously in the real world. It integrates: - high-level cognition (reasoning, planning, adaptation) - and whole-body motion control (low-latency dynamic locomotion, manipulation) It enables the Oli robot to act on natural language instructions and perform tasks that involve both walking and manipulation while being adaptive to interruptions.

🇺🇸 The United States has completed a series of B61-12 nuclear bomb flight tests using an F-35 at the Tonopah Test Range in Nevada. The trials, conducted from 19 to 21 August, involved the safe carriage and release of inert B61-12 units and confirmed overall system reliability. This marks the only B61-12 stockpile flight test series carried out on an F-35 to date.

Starting price: $574,000. This robot weighs 500kg, is built from high-strength alloy, and has a torso-mounted cockpit. The demo video shows it walking upright, knocking down a brick wall with its hand, then reconfiguring into a four-legged crawl. Unitree calls it the world's first mass-produced transformable mecha. Demonstrating our latest localization system in action. At bootup, the robot has no prior position estimate, but within seconds it autonomously localizes itself using a fusion of three algorithms. Unlike our previous version, this updated system incorporates vision, allowing the robot to adapt to real-world changes (e.g., moved furniture) by recognizing previously seen environments. In this demo, we repeatedly reset navigation and reposition the robot to random locations, showing robust, repeatable localization. The robot then executes a full patrol, following a planned path (visualized in RViz) with real-time path tracking. Because our software is hardware-agnostic, it brings the same reliable performance to any robot it runs on.
