Chandrasekhar wasn’t a one-man wrecking crew, but his spellbinding leg-spin was decisive. Australia struggled repeatedly against his guile and variation..

He delivered one of his greatest career performance against Australia in Australia.

One of the best bowler.

Even Viv Richards says that he was the toughest bowler he had faced

🔥

One of the best

You are bringing great stories bro

Thanks yar

Taking 12 wickets at Melbourne to win India their first-ever Test in Australia isn’t dramatic—it’s pure history! 28 wickets in that series speaks for itself. Who actually read Chandra down under?

Absolutely he was brilliant in his spin to flight the v ball .

Pure nostalgic feeling, I wasn't aware about it this legend

Chandra’s 12-for at the MCG was genuine match-winning magic, especially that second 6/52. Still fair to say India won with a spin pack, not a one-man wrecking crew.

Nice story ❤️

Chandra 's magic at Oval victory in 1971 with 6-38 figures are etched in our memories ! dulcet voiced BBC commentator John Arlott used to call him " Chandra my love 💕"

Amazingly took 6-52 in each innings of that test.

Poor AI voice over

Undoubtedly, the best spinner in cricket.

Superb bowling.

That's fast medium

Shoutout to the great wicket keeper Syed Kirmani who could keep close for the fast and unpredictable Chandra

Top drawer spinner

One of my favourite players ever

Australia won the series 3-2 And that was during WSC. No Greg Chappell, Ian Chappell, Redpath, Marsh, Lillee, Pascoe, David Hooke's, Bruce Laird, Doug Walters, etc. Hardly a destruction of Australia Great bowler though

Chandrasekhar had a great series in 1976/77 against an Australian team decimated by the World Series Cricket split and who had brought 42 year old Bob Simpson out of retirement to captain the team. 28 wickets at 25.14 for the five test series. Only Bishen Bedi with 31 wickets at 23.87 was better, but it does reinforce your point that it was far from a one man demolition job. A side note - Bob Simpson topped the series runs scored for both sides...

True that the series was a team effort and Bish even took more wkts across the 5 matches, but in one match in particular Chandra took 6/52 and 6/52 to wreck the Aussies and secure the drawn series for the visitors.

He is one of those rare cricketers who took more wickets than scored runs.

That's was great bowling by him
