Liquid tankers accounted for 111 crossings, or 51% of the total, followed by 82 dry bulk vessels (37%) and 27 LPG carriers (12%). No LNG crossings were recorded in March. Traffic remained skewed toward west-to-east movements out of the Gulf, which made up 149 crossings, or 68% of the monthly total. East-to-west transits into the Gulf accounted for 71 crossings, or 32%, highlighting an uneven flow pattern through one of the world’s most critical maritime chokepoints.

According to media reports, the vessel was intercepted by the U.S. Navy destroyer USS Stockdale. The laden tanker made another U-turn on November 16, rejoining its initial route, before being intercepted again in the early hours of November 17, after which it made yet another attempt to continue its voyage. Finland seizes vessel suspected of damaging underwater cable Finnish authorities have seized the cargo vessel Fitburg off the coast of Porkkala in connection with damage to an undersea data cable between Helsinki and Tallinn.
