Chris Williamson said something that really landed. Most people can lose 5 pounds or switch jobs, but very few ever lose 50 or 100 pounds, completely change careers, or move countries. Real, deep change usually only happens when someone hits rock bottom. He quoted J.K. Rowling: “Rock bottom is...

Jony Ive designed the iPhone. The iMac. The MacBook. He asked Steve Jobs to soften his criticism. Jobs: "No. You're just vain. You want people to like you." Jony was furious. Because he knew it was true. He spent 3 minutes explaining what Jobs actually taught him: The first lesson: Focus. "This sounds really simplistic. But it still shocks me how few people actually practice it." "Steve was the most remarkably focused person I've ever met in my life." "Focus is not something you aspire to. It's not something you decide on Monday. 'You know what, I'm going to be focused.'" "It is every minute asking: why are we talking about this? This is what we're working on." "You can achieve so much when you truly focus." The second lesson: What focus actually means. "One of the things Steve would say, because I think he was concerned that I wasn't focused, he would say: how many things have you said no to?" "And I would have these sacrificial things. Because I wanted to be very honest about it." "So I'd say: I said no to this, and no to that." "But he knew I wasn't vaguely interested in doing those things anyway. So there was no real sacrifice." Here's what real focus means. "Saying no to something that with every bone in your body you think is a phenomenal idea." "That you wake up thinking about." "But you say no to it because you're focusing on something else." The third lesson: The difference between caring about people and caring about being liked. Jony asked Jobs why he was so harsh. "Couldn't we moderate the things we said a little bit?" "Why?" "Because I care about the team." Jobs said something brutally insightful. "No Johnny. You're just really vain." "You just want people to like you." "I thought you really held the work up as the most important. Not how you believed you were perceived by other people." "I was terribly cross." "Because I knew he was right."

Whenever I’m down to 10%, I watch this video and somehow it takes me straight to 200% There is no one on Earth who can make humanity feel more excited about the future than Elon Musk Elon started SpaceX with one of the deepest missions anyone could dedicate their life to: Humanity cannot remain confined to one planet forever We need to become a multiplanetary civilization We need to carry life beyond Earth And we need to build a future so ambitious that people can wake up genuinely excited about what comes next That was the heart of why Elon started SpaceX Not because rockets were an easy business or success was guaranteed or the safest way to protect his wealth It was the exact opposite He knew the odds were overwhelmingly against him. Space is brutally hard. He knew he could lose every dollar he had made and walk away with nothing But he also knew the mission was bigger than anything he could personally lose That is the part that hits me deeply Most people spend their lives protecting what they already have Elon was willing to risk everything he had for something humanity did not yet have A future among the stars. A backup for entire human civilization A reason for billions of people to look upward and believe that the future can be greater than the past He was risking everything he had to change the direction of humanity. To make space serious again To make the impossible feel reachable To remind us that civilization should not only solve today’s problems......we should also build a future worth surviving for "To create an exciting inspiring future for everyone" That level of conviction is almost impossible to comprehend Imagine knowing there is a massive chance you will fail, lose your fortune, be mocked by everyone and watch years of work explode in front of you… and still deciding that the mission matters more than your fear That is why this video does something to me every time It reminds me that your life becomes much bigger when the mission becomes bigger than you Most people ask: “What might I lose?” Elon acted on a far bigger question: “What might humanity lose if nobody tries?” That difference changed the direction of the future
