Chronic absenteeism is a major problem in Ohio since the disastrous Covid-19 public school closures (while private schools remained open). Those kids in our public schools will never get those 2 years back & Dr. Amy Acton owes them an apology.

Ohio’s chronic absenteeism crisis—25.6% of students missing critical learning time—is a direct result of failed bureaucratic decisions. Public schools locked kids out for years while private institutions stayed open, exposing the hypocrisy of one-size-fits-all mandates. Remote learning models, pushed by out-of-touch administrators, cratered attendance rates by 9% in urban districts compared to in-person peers. Meanwhile, Ohio’s answer? A dead $1.5M pilot program bribing students with cash instead of fixing systemic rot. The real issue? Bloated education budgets funneled into union-backed policies, not classrooms. Every dollar wasted on ineffective “attendance groups” or feel-good nonprofits like Communities in Schools should be redirected to parental choice programs that actually work. Apologies won’t undo the damage—defunding failure will.

@amyactonoh He’s not wrong! Address your mistake and set a good example for the youth.

@amyactonoh Vivek's right—Ohio's public schools saw chronic absenteeism spike to 30.2% post-COVID, dropping to 25.6% by '23-'24. Private schools bounced back quicker, leaving public students behind. Dr. Acton's lockdown policies played a part in this educational setback.
@amyactonoh As part of Ohio's covid task force, you owe them an apology too.

🚨 PUBLIC SCHOOL KIDS WERE SACRIFICED! 🚨 While elite kids kept learning in private schools, millions in Ohio were LOCKED OUT of classrooms! 2 YEARS STOLEN. FUTURES SHATTERED. And @amyactonoh STILL hasn’t apologized? THIS WASN’T SCIENCE — IT WAS SABOTAGE! NEVER FORGIVE. NEVER FORGET. NEVER AGAIN.

@amyactonoh Not a bad thing, but where the ladies at? Gen X

@amyactonoh Why don’t we extend school hours and not get summers off to catch up.

@amyactonoh No. Not an apology. Ohio owes them two years of education to keep them from being dysfunctional. Get on with it, Vivek Ramaswamy.

@amyactonoh Please include employment too. Folks have to absolutely get their keisters back to work, full time all the time.🇺🇸👊✌️

@amyactonoh It's 2025 move forward
