Cinematic parallels in Obsession 🍿
33 Yorum

There’s only so many things you can do with a camera.

Now it makes sense why it was a good film!

The side by side parallels really expose how heavily the movie relies on older best ones.

So many references Obsession is an absolute cinema

The "no no no" scene was inspired by Get Out, obviously

to be fair curry has been very open about being heavily influenced by pearl for this movie

Nothing different to what Tarantino has been doing for 30 years.

There’s an interview somewhere where she basically lists every movie they stole scenes from , including Hereditary.

Obsession has nothing in common with those films. Patching together random films to fit a narrative is disingenuous

This isn’t inspiration, this is a greatest hits compilation 😭😭

Nothing Hollywood or the music industry does is original anymore. Its all taken from previous films or music. Thats why I make my own AI films, to see something different and that I like. I make my own music and even porn, that I like. 😈 Lol

Dang this makes me see it a whole different way now 😕

Are you telling me obsession is not original but a stitch of diffrent scenes from movies?

People that think it’s sad they have to copy stuff just don’t understand that it’s almost impossible to be the first to do something anymore, old is new

backrooms'u izlediğim için kendime kızıyorum onun yerine obsession'u tekrar izlemeliydim

Horror movies have been "borrowing" from each other since the 70's, if not sooner.

Just rip off everyone before you they will call you an artist.

“Pulse” real ball knowers know it as Kairo. The Asian lady that played the ghost even scared herself watching it lol

People need to realize that nothing is original anymore, everything has already been done

That forced, unhinged smile parallel is actually terrifying.

The director repeated several sequences he did in his own YouTube features into this cinematic movie. Like the creepy walking and face bashing. Refining his work. In general he's a big horror fan.

So he copied a bunch of stuff, seems about modern cinema

This is done in so many movies. Let’s not pretend Obsession is the only one influenced by previous works. Come on. No different than in music

It's funny how everyone says AI copies everything and then we see stuff like this

The video effectively spotlights how Obsession leans heavily on established horror visuals, a common practice but one that risks feeling derivative rather than fresh.

The scariest/creepiest parts of obsession (Nikki's unnatural body movements) were obviously inspired by Pulse.

You compiled a list of videos of women acting crazy

F

Just becuase it has the same type of horror doesn't make the same movie alot of movies do this look at bloody Mary that's been adpated like ten times

Will Kenyans one day be serious 😂😂😂💔

I didn't know *The Exorcist* invented vomiting... just to give an example of how ridiculous this is.
