holy cow. I never realized just how much they went to to make it the perfect Arawi adaptation. But it's definitely paying off, at least in my opinion. I don't think you can get a more literal adaptation of the art style than what we have here. it's insane, actually

Look, an extremely high quality episode in this day and age, with only a single AD, 5 (actually 6) KAs, and a non-existent 2nd KA credit. Kyoani truly is built different.

It seems like a lot of people don't know that Frieren s1 charater designer Reiko Nagasawa was diagnosed with adjustment disorder, which I believe is the reason she is not returning for s2. I'll leave a translation of the afterword from Wiederfehen Frieren vol 2 in the replies.
