This is far more than the launch of a new vehicle. It is the convergence of India's energy security mission, our commitment to clean mobility, and our resolve to build an #AatmaNirbharBharat. Over 300 million two-wheelers ply on Indian roads today. Imagine the impact when even a fraction of them begin running on fuel produced from Indian farms rather than imported crude oil. A decade ago, ethanol blending in India stood at just 1.5%. Today, India has achieved 20% ethanol blending, one of the fastest energy transitions anywhere in the world. The benefits are immense. ✅ Reduced dependence on imported oil ✅ Lower foreign exchange outgo ✅ Cleaner transportation ✅ Additional income opportunities for our farmers Every litre of ethanol blended into fuel reduces India's import burden and strengthens our energy independence. Having witnessed Brazil's successful flex-fuel journey firsthand, I have seen how transformative this technology can be for an entire nation. Today, India begins writing its own success story. Whenever a policy strengthens India’s self-reliance, increases farmers’ income and reduces dependence on imported oil, misinformation begins to spread. The facts are clear—E15, E19 and now E20 fuel have been used across millions of vehicles in India. E20 was introduced only after extensive scientific testing, technical evaluation and consultations with automobile manufacturers. No evidence of any widespread technical crisis has emerged. Ethanol blending is a long-term national programme aimed at supporting farmers, strengthening energy security and building a cleaner, more self-reliant India.
