If you had a drone and saw a tornado, would you try to fly it into the tornado? In 2022 near Crowell, TX I tried to do that, and MISSED! LOL! The winds were so strong it tossed the little drone around, but then swept it away along with the tornado. I had to run a half mile into a field of mesquite trees to track the drone down to recover this legendary footage!

In this clip, I was able to call out a tornado 6 minutes before it had even formed. This is a top-down radar analysis of a mesocyclone handoff that would lead to the Villa Ridge-Gray Summit, MO tornado on Friday. Thankfully, the area was in a warning already from a prior cycle!

Brandon Copic got hit by a tree that came down on us during the intense RFD surge from the tornado forming nearby on 04/23/26. 🌪️🚨 I was running outside trying to grab my $180 sunglasses after they flew off, but I had to forget about them fast because that tree was about to come flying right into me. In that moment, safety mattered way more than anything else. A powerful tornado was seen spinning near Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma, forcing it to close on Thursday. Video shows the massive size of the twister as it moved across Enid, a city of about 50,000 people in Garfield County near the state's northern border. The tornado ripped roofs off buildings and knocked down power poles. There were no immediate reports of fatalities and only minor injuries hours after the tornado passed through, according to the Garfield County Sheriff's Office.

The chaos inside of a tornado debris field is unfathomable. Some tornadoes can be so strong and sit in one spot for so long that they shred everything in their path into small pieces. In 2020 when I accidentally shot this tornado in slow-mo at 240 FPS, I originally was a little irritated with myself. However, it's the only 240 FPS piece of footage I have ever shot of a tornado, and it offers a unique and rare look into the chaos of a monster. So much going on inside of the debris field of this tornado near Scarth, MB. This tornado I call the Green Screen tornado. Many people accused me of using a green screen when shooting this video. These days I would be calling it the AI Tornado.

I’m holding off on posting yesterday’s tornado content because I shot it in D-Log and it requires processing, but it’ll sure be something when I can find a few hours. It’s important to focus on the tornado and not the chaos. I chose this position, illegally parked in the middle of the lane, because it gave me the best compromise of up close and “don’t forget to look up.” I want to see the whole tornado, not the bottom 10 feet of it. *I put the snarky comment about position in because some of the h8rs are complaining about it, despite me being the FIRST one there and zero other cars on the road.

I'm gonna go ahead and release this here, as there seems to be some discourse since it was not well documented, as Ben McHone and I were the only chasers with a view of the Kankakee, IL Tornado as it morphed from a stout stovepipe to a large wedge. We were northbound on a road, looking south of the tornado, while most high-profile chasers were to the SW of the tornado at the time. This tornado turned into a rapidly widening tornado and was cloaked by RFD, moving directly into Aroma Park. This tornado spooked me to a degree as I was anticipating it to be moving more NE vs due East. Otherwise, this would have been a very close-range intercept. After this, the tornado became wrapped from our view before blasting east. I'll release a video of the Satellite with an evil El Reno-like Meso here later.
