Codex has become a real game engine... If you take the time to make it become one. You can do EVERYTHING in it. And I think I've cracked the perfect custom UX? I'd like to show you how I use it. See video below 4 steps: - Create a... show more

If think @thsottiaux has to hire you 🫶 so interesting, I’m going to do it with my projects !!

@thsottiaux Thanks Alexis! love to share Codex tips

wow this is so cool, I need to try this too!

Once you invest a little time on each tool, pin them, it’s a blast!

yeah its such a clever way of using the pinned threads!

I agree, I made this using Code

very cool workflow. thats the beauty of it. build tools to fit your needs.

it works surprisingly well and it's fun

this custom ux workflow looks absolute madness

feels so unique! hard to move to another harness after that

tell us more about the linear board inside codex too

It’s just so convenient. Plus I have symphony behind so I can move tickets to “todo” and it will start Threads

how did you hide the chat panel in the linear tab

There is an hide composer toggle on the top left menu

Codex is starting to feel like a whole development environment now

I love it. You can customize it as much as you want and prompt any tools as you go

Epic thx for sharing

Wow

Is this built into an engine like Unity or unreal? Or are you just building the whole game in Codex?

The whole game is built in Codex. It’s ThreeJS

Oh wow! That’s a web based thing right? What complexity of game can ThreeJS do in your experience? Can you do full 3D RPG in the vein of Skyrim or is it best for small 2D games?

Yes, it's web based! Oh believe me with ThreeJS you can do a lot, see but mostly 3D

@Dimillian really well thought out man! Codex can literally become anything you put your mind and tokens to haha.

Claude not working this morning gave me a good reason to go have a gpt sub instead of two Claude sub This post is right on time, I'll give it a shot Thank you sir

Report back to tell us what you think!

Codex is basically becoming a game dev operating system. 🤯 Build the tool, use it, then have Codex improve it

Is this in threejs

This is where it gets interesting. Not replacing the engine, but removing a lot of the friction around it: tools, tasks, experiments, fixes, notes, weird ideas. That’s the stuff that usually kills momentum.

@Dimillian i think you would love bb :)

This is so cool! Can you share how you did the animations?

Atomic Particle Simulator Chemistry Lab

Thanks for sharing this. I love how projects are managed this way. Pretty cool!

The worktree + pinned-tool loop is a strong UX pattern: it turns a one-off generated utility into a repeatable part of the game pipeline. The next test is versioning—can a tool reproduce the same asset after the prompt, model, or art rules change?

animation is easy once, but generated scene graphs need stable names for reliable iteration

How would you recommend to build this tool in codex for native / web apps ?

It could be in the same stack as your web app, just behind a dev route like /__dev etc.

thanks man, gonna try it out now. also all this noise with grok bot, have you figure it out how can we assign those repetitive workflows for each agents in codex and continue autonomously (ex. generate app icon from image reference, scrap info from google directory, add & deploy

Instead of Bots I have these pinned Thread, except they provide a UI on top. Also there are some skills that I have for each thread like /add-building, /generate-sfx etc for all the recurring tasks that needs a bit of scaffolding

I've had codex build two engines now because the games I've wanted requires it

Yeah it can do 3D but it’s not very good at it. Claude does the same thing too. Good for placeholders but there’s other means that will accomplish way more. Don’t burn your credits on that.
