Computer Use runs this use case 42% faster in today's Codex app update.

We did some serious performance work and Codex Computer Use is *ripping*. I measured: 42% faster in 5.3-Spark and 16% faster in 5.5.

I imagine it's in the pipeline already, but auto-switching between Spark and heavy-duty models (ie, 5.5) dynamically for computer-use task portions would be an obvious huge win here.

Codex's Computer Use uses both screenshots and accessibility to interact with app UIs Spark can't see the screenshots, but it can still work with apps using accessibility!

This just an illusion, the transitions between clicks makes it seem like a human, and as fast, but in reality its just as slow as any other browser use with ai

I would encourage you to grab a timer, test them side-by-side, and validate that theory!

I'd be damned to install what surmounts to a RAT on my computer. 'computer use' is that plus Windows Recall all wrapped into one cybersecurity bomb just waiting for something to go "wrong".

No, it isn't. You're wrong. Most OS's don't have that turned on, you have to go out of your way to turn it on and plenty don't have MDM features at all. Exploits being created and surfaced is not the same as you being exploited by it personally. Codex and computer use are NOT the same thing. You're just wrong on every account.

The mouse movement at 0:12 is very human-like. Rather than going in a straight line to the "Continue" button, it goes in a little loop first. Very impressive!

Do you ever get reports of computer use issues from users who use multiple Desktop Spaces? Haven’t taken the time to pin down specific issues but it’s definitely less reliable when I’m working across different spaces
