I met with Ukrainian service members who are training at the European F-16 Training Center in Romania. We spoke with the cadets about specifics and conditions of their training program. We also discussed the challenges our pilots face and how the state can help address them. At the center, our guys undergo different stages of training, including theory and real sorties. The first Ukrainian pilots began their program there in 2024, and some of them already carry out combat missions to repel Russian aggression. I thank Romania, the instructors at the center, and everyone who is helping us defend ourselves and counter Russian terror. We will always be grateful to the United States for the opportunity to strengthen the protection of our sky with American fighter jets, as well as to Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, which have already transferred aircraft to Ukraine.

Some doubted it should exist at all. But it did. And it changed everything. The Boeing Airplanes 747 shrank the world. It made long-haul travel routine, affordable, and democratic. It moved people, cultures, aid, commerce, presidents, astronauts, and ideas, often all at once. Bill Gates later called it the first world-wide web, for the way it interconnected our world. 1,574 were built. As per Joe Sutter’s engineering vision, each one over-engineered. Each one designed with a belief that scale could be elegant. And despite newer technology and quieter engines, many will still be flying well into the 2050s, hauling cargo, supporting science, and proving that good design outlasts fashion. For me, the affection is personal. The 747 isn’t just an aeroplane, it’s a presence. The way it sits on the ramp. The way it absorbs weather. The way it carries speed without drama and weight without complaint. Flying it never felt like operating a machine; it felt like working with one. A weird symbiotic relationship, that I’m unable to explain. There are aircraft that are clever. There are aircraft that are efficient. And then there is the 747. Bold enough to be both, and generous enough to bring the world along with it. The 21st Brigade of Somalia's Turkish-trained Gorgor Commando Force on Friday completed its advanced military training in Türkiye and is expected to return to Mogadishu in the coming days, according to security sources. The brigade will be replaced by the 22nd Brigade, which recently finished its basic training in Mogadishu and is set to deploy to Türkiye for advanced instruction. The latest rotation marks a shift in the training program, with an entire brigade now being deployed at once instead of the previous practice of sending a single battalion. With the addition of the 21st and 22nd brigades, the Gorgor force has expanded to six brigades, numbered 17 through 22, making it one of Somalia's largest and most capable military formations. Türkiye provides training, equipment and armored vehicles for the force, while Qatar finances the program. Although the commandos have not yet received more advanced weapon systems, they have been equipped with day and night capable drones and armored vehicles, significantly enhancing their operational capabilities.

Some more insight to the callsign SAM47, it refers to the 47th POTUS. Anywhere the POTUS flys, there is at least one backup jet that carries the callsign SAM (Special Air Mission) and then the whatever number the President is shadowing them. For Biden, it was SAM46, for Trump it was SAM45, and for Obama it was SAM44, etc. The POTUS will travel onboard the C-32A (Boeing 757) as well as the VC-25 (Boeing 747). I wanted to share some video of the C-32A picking up Obama in Chicago before the inauguration for a NatGeo special on AF1. It gives you some unique insight into this USAF squadron that is tasked with flying not only the POTUS, but various heads of state and politicians. You’ll see in the video the communications station on the C-32A which is rare to see. Some more insight to the callsign SAM47, it refers to the 47th POTUS. Anywhere the POTUS flys, there is at least one backup jet that carries the callsign SAM (Special Air Mission) and then the whatever number the President is shadowing them. For Biden, it was SAM46, for Trump it was SAM45, and for Obama it was SAM44, etc. The POTUS will travel onboard the C-32A (Boeing 757) as well as the VC-25 (Boeing 747). I wanted to share some video of the C-32A picking up Obama in Chicago before the inauguration for a NatGeo special on AF1. It gives you some unique insight into this USAF squadron that is tasked with flying not only the POTUS, but various heads of state and politicians. You’ll see in the video the communications station on the C-32A which is rare to see.
