THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE: President Trump honors the life and service of Staff Sergeant Michael H. Ollis, who made the ultimate sacrifice serving his country in Afghanistan. In 2013, Michael used his body to protect a Polish soldier from a Taliban suicide bomber in a split-second act of bravery. Today, President Trump posthumously awarded SSG Ollis with the Medal of Honor for his heroism on that fateful day. Ollis' parents spent years campaigning for Michael to have his Distinguished Service Cross upgraded to the Medal of Honor.
