Bullshit. He couldn’t compete with much better rivals: Revolver, Timbertrain, Nemesis, Prado, Kafkas, purebread, Bean around the World- all within a block radius and all NOT closed.

The fact that they aren’t allowed to install roll down metal shutters for their store fronts due to city bylaws is evidence enough that small business owners are being thrown under the bus by virtue signalling politicians. It’s all shallow performance with no substance.

It is sad when criminals win the day.

It’s sad. These incidents add up to hurt a business. Imagine you’re the business owner and have to constantly pay for repairs, defend your staff and deal with the costly mess that are left behind by non-customers?

Our justice system is a joke. This is what you get after years of woke mismanagement. Our city should be a better place to live over time, not worse. Restaurant/cafe is one of the lowest profit businesses in the best of times, even harder with frequent smashed windows.

I own a building and run a company in the area. I made the investment 15 years ago. The area has gotten worse. It’s embarrassing to the last 2 mayors that gave the drug dealers and criminals the power. Time to clean it up.

Citizens of Vancouver should get to vote where they mayor has to live. I vote downtown eastside, he can even pick the street.
