Why? Why would Rory’s 1-shot win, that took him a decade, suddenly translate to a dozen more majors after his 36th birthday? It’s far more likely that he’ll never win another major than that he’ll win 10 more.

Rory turns 36 next month. He very well might get another couple now that the pressure is off, but balky putters never get better with time. The idea that he’s going to pick up another 10+ is ridiculous.

Padraig ignores Rory’s biggest weakness: mental toughness. That win was painful to watch. Rory was an emotional wreck, and knows he barely held on. It was more relief than confidence boost.

He’s just won his first major in over 10 years, talking about him getting to double digits is asinine. Paddy is great but this take is ridiculous.

Things Rory did on Sunday that Jack and Tiger would never have done: 1. Hit wedge into the water on 13 2. Missed very makeable eagle putt on 15 3. Missed very makeable birdie putt on 16 4. Hit wedge into bunker on 18 5. Missed very makeable par putt on 18 in reg. Maybe Tiger and Jack do ONE of those things. Two would be a massive stretch. Rory did ALL five, undoing any ONE of which would've given him the jacket outright, undoing more than one of which and it's an easy coronation. I'm thrilled he won, was pulling for him all day, I got choked up for the 5 minutes afterwards when no words were spoken. But he's not winning on average 1+ major a year for the next decade.
