Couldn’t agree more. I actually undersold the direct manipulation part of this demo. The UI was designed for uninterrupted multi-touch from the start - multiple variables, manipulated simultaneously, with instant visual feedback. Less “operating a tool,” more playing with the material.

The spatial model might feel wrong at first. Why is the color picker above the gradient stops instead of nested inside each one? Because the UI isn’t organized around settings - it’s organized around direct manipulation. The layout is what lets you play with the object instead of configuring it.
