Crypto may have been the canary in the coal mine. Years of being a prime target for hackers may have made the crypto industry better prepared for the cybersecurity challenges the rest of the internet is about to face. The real battle may be just beginning

crypto's hard-earned security lessons matter, but the attack surface doesn't stop at consensus or hardware wallets. dapps still rely on ordinary web stacks, APIs and signing flows, so the whole path from browser to key needs the same scrutiny.

“ One of the greatest philanthropic gifts in the history of humanity”: $6.25B to fund investment accounts for 25M American kids 🇺🇸 @jason: “ This is one of the greatest philanthropic gifts in the history of humanity.” “People have just kind of glossed over it because there's a lot of big numbers in the world, but we're talking about you and Susan sat down and said, ‘We're gonna give a number.’ And that number was $5, $6, $7 billion.” Michael Dell 🇺🇸: “It's $250 to 25 million children, ages 2-10, in zip codes where the median income is $150,000 or less. It’s $6.25 billion.” Brad Gerstner (Brad Gerstner): “This is Social Security 2.0. This is the biggest change to the social contract in America in 50 years.” “3.7 million kids a year will get an account that can compound. It's a 401k from birth.” “And yes, we're going to have a lot of announcements, but it's not just billionaires.” “It's going to be companies that are donating stock on their IPOs into these accounts, it's going to be wealthy people, it's going to be states, it's going to be moms and dads, it's going to be corporations.” “And the estimate is over 15 years, we can move $5 trillion into the pockets of families that would've otherwise had zero.” david friedberg: “If this $5 trillion moved through government programs, it would get incinerated.” “That's what we see happen. There's just a million crony structures that take it away and destroy it.” Brad: “And it unlocks the human potential. It's not just the money. ‘It's that ‘I'm in the game. I have a shot.’” Michael Dell: “Invest America, it’s not a red idea or a blue idea. It's a red, white, and blue idea.”

Awesome to sit down with Inversion founder Santiago R Santos at TOKEN2049 last week. This one meant a lot. Santi was my first ever guest on Risk Takers, and I was SO nervous for that first interview. Seeing how much I've grown since then nicely closed the circle on my first year interviewing some of the biggest names in crypto and finance. "It was almost irresponsible not to think about, wow, there's vastly more opportunity here relative to crypto." What we spoke about: - is the four-year crypto cycle still a thing - which crypto protocols actually make money - can OpenAI and Anthropic fund the AI build-out - why big tech is happy to borrow at 9-10% to build AI - where to invest in AI without picking the winning model - why Inversion swapped crypto for AI - the businesses AI agents put under pressure first THE CYCLE: "I think this idea of like a four-year cycle or thinking about in cycles is largely irrelevant... every year of the last couple of years has started off feeling like it's going to end. Like p(doom) has been high at the beginning of the year. And then somehow the market's up like 15, 20% and we're hitting all time high." WHERE CRYPTO MAKES MONEY: "There's only a handful of crypto companies that have really outperformed, you know, Hyperliquid, some of the other Hyperliquid type like perpetual exchanges... And then there's a whole segment that is just not interesting... Yes, I invested early on, so I'm talking my book a little bit." AI DEBT: "If someone is willing to raise and borrow money at 9%, 10%, they're doing the math on the back and saying, there's a great return to that investment. And that just, in my opinion, tells you the spread that these guys are capturing with these products." POWER AND MEMORY: "In the stack of AI that I want to be invested in, feel more comfortable, it's in power and it's in memory... Most of the memory guys are totally sold out for the next couple of years... It's almost like a drug trade. It's like I know a guy that knows a guy that can get me the chips." THE BIG WAVE: "There's a trillion dollars of AI CapEx that is going to be deployed in the next couple years. Every year... Do you want to be riding a small wave or do you want to be riding a big wave?" BANKS AND INSURERS: "Businesses that you definitely don't want to be investing behind, which is businesses that have made money on basically banking on less intelligence. And a lot of that is just banks, for instance, financial institutions, insurance companies... If your flight gets delayed, you're owed $600 by regulation... Now it's worth your time because you can deploy an agent for very little cost." Former BlackRock fund manager Ed Dowd: "The metals are telling you that there's uncertainty out there and a lack of trust... [and] that gold and silver are going to be part of the new monetary system... [so] gold and silver are the trade and not Bitcoin so much." This clip of Dowd (Edward Dowd), who is also the founder of Phinance Technologies, is taken from a discussion with Michael Farris (Michael Farris) posted to YouTube on January 13, 2026. ---------------Partial transcription of clip--------------- "The metals are telling you that there's uncertainty out there and a lack of trust. I think the big, the moves in gold and silver are really discounting a lack of trust and fear of what is coming and what it's going to look like. And, and also it's also telling you that gold and silver are going to be part of the new monetary system. "And Bitcoin, interestingly enough, has stalled out. It's down 20% since October, the high in October and Bitcoin is barely up today. So, you know, there was always this thesis around Bitcoin that when when there's a new monetary system comes, it's going to, it's going to be protection against, you know, any of that kind of uncertainty. It's increasing. It's becoming increasingly obvious to me that gold and silver are the trade and not Bitcoin so much. "And Bitcoin, unfortunately, is very highly correlated to the Nasdaq and it's disconnected from the Nasdaq. The Nasdaq and Bitcoin have disconnected temporarily. Generally speaking, they're highly correlated. So what does that say? Does that say Nasdaq is going to catch up down to Bitcoin or is Bitcoin going to rally back up? I think that the Nasdaq is going to go down to bitcoin. So that's where we are."

Max Igan, interview posted Sept. 11, 2025: "Israel... controls the U.S. now. Benjamin Netanyahu said...we are... in possession of a superpower because Israel now... controls the U.S. Everything Donald Trump is doing, he's doing for Israel...But...people are waking up to this" This clip of Igan (Max Igan), "an author, filmmaker, musician, podcaster, and researcher originally from Australia who has garnered a large following for his work over the years speaking truth to power," is taken from an interview with Hrvoje Morić (Geopolitics & Empire) posted to the Geopolitics & Empire Rumble channel on September 11, 2025. (Igan's CV is per the G&E video description.) ----------------Partial transcription of clip--------------- "Israel basically controls the United States now. Benjamin Netanyahu said about three months ago, we are now in possession of a superpower because Israel now completely controls the United States. Everything Donald Trump is doing, he's doing for Israel. "And this is, this is the largest weapon manufacturers and the biggest military on earth. So, you know, if you speak out against Israel and then the United States puts sanctions on you and you know, all sorts of stuff. So this is kind of what's happening and where we're going. "But a lot of people are waking up to this now as well. So, you know, as negative as it gets, I mean, I've often said that, people will let this happen. You won't see any real pushback until it comes to people's own backyard. And now in the United States, it's coming to their own backyard. "The state of America. You've been to America recently? It's like the Third World. It's incredible. Philadelphia, you know, even in Manhattan there's piles of garbage everywhere. And la, like burnt out half of la. The other they go to San Diego, the whole center of town smells like urine. It's incredible. Homeless people all over the place. And it's like the Third World. Everyone, America is presented as this fantastic thing on tv, but when you go there and see what it's become over the last 20 years, if you go there and a lot like I go there quite a bit, and over the last 20 years I've seen it deteriorate to the point that it's shocking. It's absolutely shocking. "A lot of the people within the United States simply can't see it because they're there and amongst it, you know. But, it's shocking. And I've often said the only way you're going to bring down America, you can't wage a war against America because everyone's armed. You can't invade the place. If it's going to be destroyed, it's got to be destroyed from within, which is what is happening. All of the dual Israeli citizens in government. There's a new organization formed called AZAPAC, which is the, it's like AIPAC, only it's the anti-Zionist committee. "So that's all formed in the United States. And a lot of pushback. There's a lot of pushback happening and that might be the way out, I mean, through public awareness. I mean, once it gets so bad that you can't help but see it and you realize that all of this has been legislated to happen, you know, the only thing that stops the people pushing back and making the United States great again is the government and the police. So perhaps we need to address that, you know, and it's the same in every country. So, you know, for all of the negative stuff that's going on. "You get to the point where you think, well, you know, we're almost past the point of no return. I still see it as a positive because you can't not see it now. And, I think we are going to see some major pushback. It's going to get a lot uglier yet, but I think through it, I think we're going to head to some freedom after this."
