Cutting disability support isn't a tough choice, it's the easy option. The Government must drop any idea of balancing the books on the backs of the poorest & disabled people. Instead those with the broadest shoulders should be made to pay their fair share. My interview on LBC

@LBC No cuts to LCWRA and support group either Richard, the PIP changes would actually be small fry in comparison to the damage it would cause if that were scrapped.I’d lose over 50% of my benefits&have to survive on £3k/yr&still be too unwell to look for work. It would kill me off ⚰️

@LBC If Starmer does this, people who cannot work, who are too sick and disabled to work,will be trapped in poverty through no fault of their own. Many will die. This cannot be lawful. Breach article 2 HRA: duty to protect. Breach public sector equality duty. Direct discrimination

It’s going to a very long & sleepless night for the most vulnerable. The government should send out an urgent email to all helplines offering guidance and advice if required for those who may be reaching out for help.

@LBC Correct. Starmer is doing what is easy, not what is right. The Labour party is the new Conservative party. They seem to have lost Labour values & morals. That is sad & dangerous, because you pushing ppl away & into the clutches of Reform.

@LBC Thank you, Richard. Starmer and Co are making your party into the NASTY party. We will lose food, gas/electricity, support, things we need to manage our daily lives. None of this should happen.

In Parliament today, I called for the planned cuts to disability benefits to be scrapped. We should not be balancing the books on the backs of the poorest. Instead, we should be taxing the wealthiest. If the Government does not drop its plans, I'll be voting against the cuts.

I think it's cruel and callous for the Government to be trying to balance its books on the backs of some of the most vulnerable. I’d urge any Labour MP who is concerned about this to vote against cutting support for disabled people.
