Ocarina of Time, running natively on iOS and iPadOS for the first time. Not an emulator. Ship of Harkinian has run on Windows, Linux, macOS, Switch, Wii U, and Android. Never iOS. Now it runs on iPad, with iPhone in the build too. The game was decompiled to C and rebuilt as a native ARM64 app rendering through Metal. No N64 hardware being simulated, no ROM interpreted at runtime, no streaming from a Mac. It isn't stuck at the N64's 240p and 20fps. Widescreen, full resolution, 60fps. This game deserves a controller, so controller support is native. Pair a Bluetooth controller and play the whole thing. Touch, keyboard, and mouse work too. I used Codex 5.6 Sol to build the iOS layer. Open sourcing it all below.

A little bit more on my Novel editor. One of the things I loath about word processors is that they are so unaware of how prose is structured. They treat the line as the most atomic unit of text. But writers think in words, sentences, and paragraphs. Never lines. The editor I am working on has navigation tools for word, sentence, paragraph, and scene. You can navigate and move content at each level. All from the keyboard with some intuitive hotkeys. A pointing device like trackpad or mouse engages the part of your brain that processes spatial input. That's not where you want to be when writing. It can take you out of your flow state. And it is physically quite slow because your hands must move away from the keyboard. So I'm rethinking editing with the keyboard. It's not hard to learn, and it makes editing faster. I haven't been using it long and already I'm barely reaching for the trackpad. Follow me to be the first to try this out. #WritingCommunity

X-raypad was very kind to send me a Cerberus mousepad sample for review, so I tried osu! and CS2 with it! The glide is silky smooth and really consistent despite my sweaty hands, which was previously a huge problem dealing with speed surface pads. Honestly I’m more of a control surface kinda guy (my all-time favorite surface is the AC+), but I pick up on this pad like it’s second nature. The rubber base is honestly the best implementation I’ve seen in a mouse pad (like way better than my AC+??). This thing literally sticks to your table and does not move an inch during extreme cross-screen flicks. Overall would really recommend you guys try it out especially if you’re into speed surfaces. $30 deal for this is a steal imo

Training world models needs egocentric video and dense action signals, synchronized. That data is genuinely hard to find. We built it from Counter-Strike 2 demos. CS2-10k: 600K+ player-round videos, 10K+ hours, per-frame annotations — keyboard state, mouse delta, 3D position, camera yaw/pitch. All paired to the visual stream. Why CS2 demos? Matches are deterministic replays. We can reconstruct first-person video and extract the exact control inputs that caused every visual change. No labeling, no estimation. We're also releasing cs2-dem-renderer — the open-source pipeline we used to build it. Give it a .dem file, it outputs .mp4 + .parquet. Run your own dataset at whatever scale you need.

Lucas has a good interview with Matt Stone, who said he gave up on new TV shows because streaming economics “distort the art”. Stone’s view helps explain 30-70% viewership drop-off for Netflix shows between S1 and S2. Streaming shows are created at volume and not every episode can maintains the quality bar. This causes problem because one of the key metrics for streamers is “completion rate” (% of people who finish a show they started). Low completion rates lead to shows getting cancelled. This is why so many with devoted fan bases get scrapped after 1 or 2 seasons. Viewers enter shows not knowing how many seasons they will get. When execs decide to renew, it often takes 2-3 years between new seasons. Even when a show gets multiple seasons, the median viewer then bounces after a bad episode…which then lowers completion rate…which leads to eventual cancellation…which conditions viewer to expect streaming shows to all eventually crap the bed and/or leave narrative arcs hanging (if they get cancelled). Stone did watch a few streaming show but always caught a dud episode and “it feels like your wasting my time, it’s a betrayal.” Add in Netflix’s binge mode style — without the traditional weekly audience can talk about the show cadence — and it’s hard for viewers to truly invest their attention. Also, shows that do get a 2nd season have the marketing energy split with the conveyor belt of brand new shows Netflix is always cranking out. “The butter and bread equation has gotten screwed up in the 2010s,” Stone says. “There’s this much butter in the world but we’re going to make [a lot more] bread. Back home after a vacation broken early because of flights cancelled due to bad weather, the first evening settles in gently - a golden winter light spilling onto the balcony, the air cool, familiar, and comforting. We are happy to be back to what home does best - simple, honest fulfillment. Warm rotis fresh off the tawa, a spicy gingery chana dal with squash, aloo-pyaz mixed veg bhuna cooked down slow, tangy mint raita on the side, and the true jewel of winter - moist, fragrant, jewel-toned gajar ka halwa. Improvised from my Mom’s recipe. Just blissful food that brings you back to yourself. #SavitriCooks Here is the Recipe for Gajar Halwa. It takes anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours because the milk must be simmered at low heat. Be patient - the results are so worth it. Ingredients: Carrots – 1 kg (grated or coarsely chopped in food processor) Milk (boiled) – 1.5 - 1.75 liters full fat milk (If you like your halwa crunchy use less milk, if you like it moist use more- I used 1.75 liters) Organic Sugar – 2/3 cup (or to taste) Khoya/Milk Mawa powder –1/4 cup Ghee (desi) – 8 tbsps (or as required - I make mine at home with organic butter) Cardamom seed powder – 1/2 tsp Dry fruits/nuts (I put raisins fried in ghee and chopped pistachios)– as per taste Directions: 1. Rinse, peel, and grate/chop the carrots. 2. Add grated carrots to a heavy bottomed kadhai/pot/pan and cook on high flame for 2–3 minutes. 3. Add boiled milk, bring to a simmering boil, and mix well. We add boiled milk to ensure it doesn’t split. 4. Cook uncovered on medium-low flame until carrots are cooked and milk reduces. Keep stirring to prevent milk from burning on bottom. 5. Increase to medium flame and stir frequently as the milk evaporates. When all milk has evaporated, add sugar and mix well. The carrots will lose more water after adding sugar. 6. Continue cooking on medium flame, stirring continuously till semi dry again. 7. Add khoya and ghee, mix well. Add cardamom powder. Mix thoroughly.Keep stirring on medium-high flame till the Ghee starts oozing on sides. 8. Now thoroughly bhuno(roast) the mixture in ghee for 5 minutes till you get the roasted fragrance. Do not let the mix become over dry - the mix should still be glistening with ghee 9. Add your chopped nuts and raisins. Cover and simmer on low for 2–3 minutes. Your Gajar Halwa is ready.
