Deadline reaction #WalkTheDog NESN

@NESN Spot on, Lou. Sometimes it feels like front offices forget the objective is to win games at the big league level, not have top ranked farm system. You’re a better team than you were 24 hours ago. Hard not to like it.

@NESN Thank you for having common sense Lou

@NESN Yes, you do get to draft every year and replenish the farm, unless you're Dumbrowski, who after all his trading, left us with Michael Chavis and Darwin Hernandez as our 2 top prospects. Now we have Breslow, who has shown everybody he actually knows what he's doing!

@NESN I’m psyched. I think you nailed it @LouMerloni, improve the club when you can. Take the winning lotto ticket over the unscratched one every day. I’m traveling up to Beantown Friday to bring my 3 kids to their first Sox game and first game in Fenway!!! I can’t wait!!

@NESN Thank you Lou. I needed this today

@NESN That dog is panting!

@NESN He is a gamer. Bring up Arias. Just like Bogey in 2013. Let’s Go!!

@NESN I love we did something, everyone bitches every deadline we sit idle. That’s what prospects are for. Let’s Go!

@NESN Great points Lou, best in the biz!

@NESN Do you think they held out on acquiring a shortstop because they believe they have a legit shot at ely de La Cruz in the off-season?

@NESN

@NESN thanks lou

@NESN Definite shift in philosophy.

@NESN Good take Lou!!

@NESN Everyone doesn’t seem to be accounting for Johan Oviedo, TANNER, cutter, etc. These guys have proven major league success. The Red Sox having an abundance of pitching and traded unproven prospects for a perennial All-Star catcher that is an enormous upgrade to what they have!!

@NESN Great stuff Lou, OR maybe they believe one or more of Oviedo, Crawford or Houck can make a return down the stretch as well

@NESN Biggest winner of the deadline…TS10!!!

@ggeiss_mlb @NESN #WalkTheDog

@NESN Do you think they will promote Arias in September with the possibility of a lockout looming? I say no, but would like to see him against major league pitching

@Jonnydoe2546 @NESN You were really good on @NBCSports on Sunday!

@NESN Lou can we see the dog one of these times? The people want to see him/her

@NESN Lou, always the voice of reason. Thank you!

@ggeiss_mlb @NESN 🎯👍 #DirtyWater

@NESN Lou 100% bang on. We’re going to the World Series

@NESN Sweet Lou, you’re the best! We’re lucky to have you!

@NESN Preaching

@NESN Sweet Lou... You are a great on-line analyst whom I learn so much from - Thank You for teaching me the subtle nuances of baseball... I truly enjoy your work !

@NESN I think if we got Patrick Sandoval through trade rather than coming off the IL people would think we got the SP. he kind of fills that role

@NESN “I checked the rules” 😂

@NESN I love it!!!! Because I'm a Red Sox apologist and ass kisser!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@NESN Fair, BUT ... How did Birds do during AR's 3 all-star seasons? You'd better be right. Pitching wins & that mainly has powered Sox resurgence. Sox were rolling, not reeling, & AR's NOT Johnny Bench. .249, 8, 47. Sox needed middle-inning reliever. Btw, CB gave up .250, 23, 62. :)

@NESN Agree 1000%, except the part about SS. No way do I wanna see Story back at SS. Hopefully they feel the same way.

@NESN Man of logic 🫡🎯

@NESN I disagree on the Miller/Mayer deal. I think they massively undervalued him. He definitely needed a change of scenery but for a reliever is poor business imo.

@NESN Great take (as always) Lou!
