It worked!! Kimi k3 Oauth is now wired directly into codex. The Kimi k3 model is insane but their app is not. So I figure a better way to use k3 by hooking my sub straight into codex instead. K3 now sits in the model picker next to Sol 5.6. Same subscription i was already paying for, no api key, just have to do OAuth in Kimi Code. Links down below 👇

Codex can spawn grok 4.5 or Kimi k3 as subagents now. Not more GPT, other companies' models, running underneath it, in the same session. Wired both into my picker weeks ago. Today they stopped being alternatives and started taking jobs. Each agent gets its own context window and runs on a sub i already pay for. My Codex quota only goes on the turns that need it. Command Code is now in Codex!! The plan we're on is $1 a month. It comes with $10 of credits and around 15K requests. GPT-5.6 Luna is in it, the same model we just moved to when the OpenCode sub got cut, and Grok 4.5 sits in there too next to DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM and MiniMax. Their own docs say the $1 tier has no API access. It's in our picker anyway. So there's a dollar sub in there next to everything else now. Next time a limit hits mid loop we grab it and keep going.

My Codex weekly limit just reset.. This time Sol doesn't get to touch the actual work. It plans, it verifies, it spawns the agents, that's it. Luna at max effort and DeepSeek do the grinding. 🚨 GMI estimated ~$0.11 in savings on one 3-step Python coding workflow. I gave GMI Router the same e-commerce codebase and split the work into 3 requests: 👉 Code analysis → Cost Mode → DeepSeek-V4-Flash → ~$0.046 saved 👉 Debugging → Balanced Mode → DeepSeek-V4-Flash → ~$0.042 saved 👉 Implementation + testing → Quality Mode → DeepSeek-V4-Flash → ~$0.019 saved Total: ~$0.11 estimated savings vs Claude Opus 4.8, based on GMI's estimated token usage. But here's what caught my attention: Router selected the same model for all 3 tasks — even though I changed the mode each time. And that's actually the point. GMI Cloud 's Router is cache-aware. When the same model can handle the next request, sticking with it can help preserve cache reuse and reduce cost. There's another reason: These tasks weren't especially difficult. So even in Quality Mode, Router didn't need to move to a heavier model. The result: 1 codebase. 3 tasks. 3 routing modes. 1 lightweight model. ~$0.11 estimated savings. This is why request-level routing is more interesting than simply assigning a different model to every task.
