There are so many disappointments in law enforcement and it’s mostly because of Affirmative Action and now DEI. When I was a Sergeant Investigator in Internal Affairs we did the background investigations. But the best candidates who were White with Criminal Justice degrees were not the ones who were selected All the emphasis was on people of color who lived in the inner city. The thinking was that they had a vested interest in their hometown, but most were not qualified. They needed constant remedial training and were a managerial nightmare. This is what goes on where Democrats govern major cities. The higher I went in rank the more I hated managing inept people who were supposed to be professionals. Don’t get me wrong there are more qualified people, but if 40% are not, then it drags down the professionalism considerably.
