Denis Villeneuve could potentially crash everyone’s Oscar plans in the next few months. I’ve always felt like Villeneuve is a dark horse in this year’s Oscar race simply over the fact The Academy has never really recognized Dune the way it should have- and that includes Dune 1 & 2. Christopher Nolan is the talk of the town and a few other upcoming releases are in the Best Picture conversation, but nothing counts until Denis drops Dune 3.
